Raya Rhodes
Raya Rhodes is a volunteer and community advocate with the San Francisco AAPAC and several organizations. Some but not all include GLIDE, Tenderloin Housing Development Clinic, support for families and Compass Family Services.
Raya has an associates degree in Sociology from Chabot College. She has completed her certification in early childhood development. She is also pursuing a public health worker certification with Homeless Prenatal. Raya is a survivor of domestic violence and utilizes her lived experience to advocate for other mothers and their families within the community.
Raya lends her acquired knowledge to the organizations mentioned. To further perspective and curate solutions. Solutions that aid mothers in navigating safety for victims of domestic abuse. Obtaining equity and inclusion in public healthcare. Obtaining access to public housing, and equality in acquiring resources and opportunities for low income families to thrive.
Raya believes that client partnership with community based organizations can bridge the gap to many disparities and lack of resources low income families face. Raya stands firm in the belief that the difference between a statistic and a success story lies directly in the partnership between clients and advocacy from community focused organizations.
